FAQ

Questions boiler and burner owners actually ask

My namkeen / bakery burner runs on LPG or diesel. Can it run on pellets?

Not directly. You need a pellet burner fitted to your fryer, oven or boiler. Most food units recover that cost through fuel savings. We can connect you with burner makers and tell you honestly if it's worth it for your volume.

Will pellets give smoke or a smell near the food?

Dry pinewood and sawdust pellets burn with a clean, steady flame and almost no smell. Smoke usually comes from wet pellets or wrong air settings, which is why we test moisture on every batch and help set up your burner.

Why is one pellet light and another dark? Is dark bad?

Colour comes from the wood. Pine is light, hardwood is darker. Colour says nothing about quality. GCV, moisture, ash and dust do, and those are on every batch report.

My pellets turned to powder or swelled in storage. Why?

They absorbed moisture. Keep bags off the floor, under a roof, away from walls that get wet, and use old stock first. In monsoon this matters most.

How can I check quality at my gate?

Look at the bottom of a few bags for dust, snap a pellet (good ones are hard and break cleanly), and check moisture with a meter. Then compare with the batch report. We're happy to show your team how.

My supplier says 4,500 GCV but my lab says 3,900. Who's right?

Often both. Many suppliers quote GCV on a dry basis. Your boiler burns pellets as received, with moisture. We always quote as-received values.

Will mustard husk, groundnut shell or cotton stalk pellets cause clinker in my boiler?

They can. Their ash melts at lower temperatures than wood ash. If clinker is a problem today, wood or pine pellets, or a wood-rich blend, usually solve it.

6 mm or 8 mm, which should I use?

6 mm suits pellet burners and small feeders. 8 mm suits most industrial boilers and drops through grates less. Tell us your equipment and we'll suggest the right size.

How many pellets will I need?

Roughly 190–230 kg of pellets per tonne of steam, depending on grade and boiler. Use our steam calculator for your numbers.

Can I mix pellets with coal or briquettes?

In many grate boilers, yes, with some air adjustment. Mixing makes feeding less uniform, so we usually suggest a full trial load first.

Is the sample really free?

The sample (up to 10–100 kg) is free. Transport charges are extra.

What is your minimum order and how do you deliver?

Minimum order is 10 t, in bags, jumbo bags or loose, on a fixed weekly day across Gujarat.
